:: MUSIC SOFTWARE ::Here I will show the most important music software that I use for my works. This software can be classified into three different categories: sequencers, instruments, and audio editors. All these programs have now been upgraded to newest versions, but there is no necessity to own the latest releases for achieving the best results. You will achieve the most just by learning the programs that you have. Now, I will resume the process that I use to create a musical theme. It has not much mystery, after all. The first step is to compose the melodies. For such matter, I usually would use my electronic keyboard. I have to admit that although I can read and write musical sheets, I never developed the ability to play an instrument. But that would not prevent me to do what I really like, that is compose my own music and experiment with the world of sound. So using the keyboard, a modest Yamaha one, and with the help of my documentation about musical theory, I choose a musical key, and then I seek note combinations for that key that are pleasing for me. Joining the different note combinations and arranging them in many different ways, I get the whole melodic composition. When I have the composition that I want, I write it in the sequencer. If I want to add chords or any other type of harmony or ornaments into the melody, the sequencer will allow me to do it easily. Also I will add rythm or bass tracks tracks, in the same sequencer. Here in the sequencer I will choose the instrumentation, and finding the right sounds can be a very delicate task. As each melody has its own character, the same applies for the sound the melody uses. When all the work of composing and arranging is done, then it is time to export the result to an audio file. Then I will masterize this audio, which mean that I will try to remove the possible disturbances of the audio, noise, hiss or even clicks. Adding effects such reverb is used by me usually, and the final touches consist in possible equalization or harmonic generation, and finally the normalization of the sound. |
